As the Ontario Ministry of Children and Youth Services, Thistletown Regional Centre (TRC) celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2007, it wanted its annual report to showcase its history and accomplishments, as well as highlight its core program services. Despite the significance of the milestone anniversary, as with many government agencies, their budget for the annual report also had to include creating new program service brochures.
Keeping costs low and quality high, we created an eight-panel fold-out brochure to keep the printing costs down, still allowing the information to flow in a sequential timeline that highlights growth and longevity. We created a family of five icons to express the positive effects of each program. The result: the project was so well received they reprinted the historical section on a large banner for their anniversary and used the icons in other communications materials, all in budget.
